Moskovitz describes variations of the condition and how it affects patient, family, and friends. The sufferer may experience guilt, self-hate, suicide, self-mutilation, and other symptoms and signs, and Moskovitz provides several patient histories to bring BPD to life. No case is more considerable than that of Sara, which Moskovitz parcels out in segments at the ends of chapters--a tactic that first seems artificial and confusing but cumulatively makes a greater impression than it would if presented whole. Moskovitz is especially adept with analogies, using everyday situations to clarify his points rather than just adorn the text. He imparts that while there is no drug just for BPD, some drugs help with specific symptoms, and he dispenses practical advice to family and professionals as well as patients. William Beatty

This book was very informative. I haven't been specifically dz with borderline personality but I meet the guidelines. I look back at my life and everything and I feel as though I am crazy. Reading this helped me realize I'm not and it takes time to heal from abuse. I wondered about my behaviors now I know. A must for anyone who feels they may suffer from BPD. best wishes to all who suffer from any mental illness.

Developing novel pharmaceuticals requires nonclinical safety studies on candidate drugs to assess general toxicology (through in vivo experiments), safety pharmacology (effects on major organ systems), and genetic toxicity tests. Not much new content from the magazine article

I was impressed by the magazine article, and so was hoping to get more content from this version. It adds little to what is freely available on Time.com. I fully support magazines using inexpensive e-books for longer version of content, but I was hoping for more extensive additions. I think you can read the article in the magazine or online for free and you're not missing much.

The article itself is interesting and well-written, but the additional cost for the Kindle version is not worth it.

Amazing story of a remarkable young man.

To put it in perspective from my point of view, I have golf balls older than Mark Zuckerberg. In just seven years, Zuckerberg has created a social network that, as pointed out in the book, if it were a country, Facebook would be the third largest country in the world. This from a 19-year-old kid who started a Web service in his dorm room. A Web service that now has over 550 million members and adds 700,000 members EVERY DAY.

What started out as a lark has transformed the world not to mention making Zuckerberg a billionaire. Facebook "makes possible social connections that never could have happened before, annihilating the time and distance that once separated people." All made possible by a teenager in his dorm room. He is the last generation that will remember life before the Internet. Think about that for a minute.

When he was just 12, Mark created a network at home called ZuckNet. If only we knew what would happen just seven years later.

Truly an amazing story of an amazing young man who simply changed the world. Five stars all the way.

Short, Sweet & Interesting!

The article didn't present too much information about Zuckerburg that I didn't already know, but it was a great read. The story did share some inside information about what goes on inside of the Facebook offices, which I wanted to hear. A good (short) read about Zuckerburg and how Facebook is changing the internet as we know it.

We've cooked every recipe in this book!

My husband and I are avid cooks and love to experiment with ethnic cuisines. We own dozens of cookbooks, and both come from very different culinary backgrounds (mediterranean/cajun) so we know a thing or two about cooking. We have cooked every single recipe in this book in the 10 years that we have owned it. I believe this is a must-have staple cookbook in every serious cook's library, and especially on Indian cooking. These are the reasons that set this apart from other cookbooks:

1. Recipes are authentic (according to our many Indian friends)
2. They are easy to follow (text is kept at a minimum, un-Martha Stuart-like)
3. The techniques are adapted to modern living. For example, I never thought of making naan bread because I know it is supposed to be baked on a hot surface, like on a big hot wood burning stove. However, this book suggests a way to achieve the same result in your oven by combining broiling and baking. The results were outstanding with about 15-minutes of oven/broiling time for a dozen or so delicious naan pieces. I was impressed!!!

Finally, this book is worth buying for a salmon & tomato recipe that is mouthwatering, elegant for company, and simple enough for a weekday meal that we make it over and over during salmon season. Even my 21-month old gobbles it up every time!

Easy to follow recipes that are tasty the way she ...

This is my go-to book when it comes to Indian cooking. Easy to follow recipes that are tasty the way she writes them, though I find them a bit light on the garlic/ginger and some of the base spices. The beauty of cooking, however, is adding to taste and this book provides a nice base to build on. Beautiful pictures round out this excellent cookbook. I highly recommend this book to anybody interested in learning how to make simple, tasty Indian food. Be sure to buy a splatter guard with this book though! Indian cooking can be dangerous thanks to the technique of frying spices in the hot oil before adding the food. When the seeds "pop" in the oil, it's hot, but you can easily get hit with these flying objects so watch out!

This was my first of Madhur Jaffreys cookbooks 14 years ago, I just bought a new copy of this book to give my Mom as a gift. Over the years I have acquired some of Madhurs Jaffreys other cook books as well. This one is excellent as are all of her cookbooks!! Her cookbooks are timeless and never get outdated. My husband never ate Indian food before I started cooking it for him and now he loves it as much as I do. Madhur Jaffrey is amusing and very clear in explaining how to create her dishes.

Tip: Be sure to read the front section of the book before you begin trying to cook her recipes, don't skip over it unless you have had previous experience with cooking Indian food. The front section of the book explains what the different techniques, methods and ingredients are, which was invaluable when I first tried to create Indian food with the use of this book. If you read the beginning you will have a much better understanding and it will be easier to complete her recipes successfully. I had so much success when I first began using this book that I have been continuing to cook Indian food for years ever since, and have also gone on to explore many other world cuisines,Thai food for instance.

If you are trying this book for the fist time, this is a good recipe from the book to start out with because it's an easy and simple one: 'Lentils with garlic and onion' it's delicious! 'Red split lentils with cumin seed'{Masoor dal} is another good one to start out with but it's a little bit more complex than the first recipe I suggested. If you make the 'Red split lentils with cumin seed' be sure to use plenty of chopped Cilantro leaves as a garnish on top!! They complete the dish, and make it even better!!! I serve both these dishes with Basmati rice. When you begin to get the hang of it, try 'Delicious cocktial koftas' {Chhote kpfte}. They are melt in your mouth, delicious lamb meatballs, YUM!!! Also try: 'Lemony chicken with fresh coriander' {Hare masale wali murgh} Too many great recipes to list. If I have one bit of advice when following her recipes it's this: Don't burn or over cook the spices when heating them in the 'Ghee'! When Madhur says cook them for a few seconds, she means it!! Happy Indian cooking to you!!

"This is literally two books in one. Not only is this a story of the 263rd Infantry in France and what happened to the men after their transfers, but also you can get an understanding as to what it is like trying to research a family member’s military history.

After the surrender of both the German and Japanese Army, the U.S. military began to drastically down size. In the fall of 1945, thousands of soldiers from the famed 66th Black Panther Division were transferred to the 42nd Rainbow Division for occupation duty in Austria. For some, the war would not be over. Thousands of displaced persons had to be cared for. Armed patrols were sent into the mountains to capture SS soldiers that were hiding out, along with the rounding up and guarding of Nazi officials took place. As a result of one of these patrols, a squad of men that were transferred from the Panther Division would be awarded one of Frances highest military awards that can be bestowed on an allied soldier. The story of the award remained silent for sixty years until a grandson asked a simple question, “What is the criteria for the French Croix de Guerre?” The significance of the story is there is not one documented case of the French Croix de Guerre being being issued to a member of the Rainbow Division during WWII or post WWII. I believe this book would be a great reference tool for anyone wanting to research a family members military history.

my Dad was in the 66th Infantry also. Great to read and learn the story of this brave unit that for morale at home, their story has not been told.
